Upcoming Retreat and Public Talk: Bon Dzogchen Teaching
with Menri Ponlob Rinpoche
Public Talk: Fri. April 16, 7-9pm
Weekend Teaching: Sat. April 17, 9:30am-5pm and Sun. April 18, 10am-1pm.
We are excited that Menri Ponlob Rinpoche will return to Olmo Ling this year to give these special teachings. Ponlob Rinpoche is the head teacher of Menri monastery, the main monastery of the Bon tradition. This year, Rinpoche will teach the second phase of the oral Dzogchen tradition of Zhang Zhung Nyen Gyud, called Khregs Chod. These teachings are based on the Instruction Manual written by the 13th century Bon Dzogchen Master Druton Gyalwa Yungdrung.
Khregs Chod means cutting through. Through this practice we cut through the layers of karmic traces that obscure the nature of the mind – “kadak”, our primordial purity. When obstacles and obscurations are removed, the natural state of the mind is revealed. Having being introduced to the natural state enables us to reconnect with it so that we can remain continuously in that state without distraction.
