Yul Sa Zhi Dak Drub Pa – Ritual Practice of the Deity of the Earth

With Tempa Dukte Lama via Zoom and in person

January 17-18, 2026

Simultaneous translation to Spanish available on Zoom. Please check back for other languages!

In this weekend training, Tempa Lama will give explanations on how to conduct the Gar Dug Yul Se Sang Chod Ritual or Offering Ritual of the Powerful Protective Deity of the Place and the Earth. He will also give the transmission of the ritual practice.

We share this earth, the mountains, rocks, water, and forest all around us with many living beings and unseen spirits. Sometimes our actions offend and threaten these spirits. This can bring misfortune, illness, epidemics, and natural calamities for many generations.

Through the Gar Dug Yul Se Sang Chod ritual practice we cultivate harmony between ourselves and the Yul Lha (earth spirits), Tod (rock spirits), Nyen (forest spirits), and Lu (water spirits). Thereby, we bring prosperity, longevity, and happiness into our lives and the lives of our family, friends, and community.

Special Teaching: The Way of the Lay Practitioner

with Tempa Dukte Lama via Zoom and in-person at Olmo Ling

January 31 – February 1, 2026

Simultaneous translation to Spanish available on Zoom. Please check back for other languages!

Many of us live in this world with a family, children, a house, and a job. We wonder whether we can only become a Buddha by becoming a monk or nun or whether it is possible to achieve liberation while living in this world as a householder. The Awakened One Tonpa Shenrab taught the Genyen Tekpa or Way of the Lay Practitioner as a skillful way for practicing within our daily life in this world. Genyen Tekpa is the path of liberation by aligning the three doors of our body, speech, and mind with positivity in our daily lives in order to free ourselves from all negativities and the twofold obscuration of affliction and intellect that separates us from our innate pure nature of joy and equanimity.

Our mind contains the seeds of both liberation and confusion. The Way of the Lay Practitioner helps us connect with and nurture the seeds of liberation. This profound teaching illuminates how we can rely on the law of cause and effect to clear the twofold obscuration of affliction and intellect and allow our true nature to manifest.
