Saturday May 14, 9:30am-5pm with lunch break and Sunday May 15, 10am-1pm
Olmo Ling Bon Center and Institute, 1101 Greenfield Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15217

Prerequisite: Attendance of the A Khrid Year 1 Teachings and Transmission (offered in fall 2013 and fall 2015). If you have not attended the Part I teachings, please do not register.

Tempa Lama will continue offering the transmission and instruction of the Heart Essence of the A Khrid Dzogchen teachings. For this second Retreat in the A Khrid Cycle, Tempa Lama will focus on giving instructions on spontaneous presence and continuity of meditative absorption without an object. This is also known as “meditation on essential nature” or ngang sgom.

The Bon Dzogchen teachings are the highest teachings of Bon as they offer a means to directly recognize the true nature of the mind and further attain stabilization of this recognition. Bon has three distinct Dzogchen lineages: the lineage of A Khrid, the lineage of Zhang Zhung Nyen Gyud, and the lineage of Dzogchen. The present A Khrid lineage is also called the experiential Dzogchen transmission. It has been transmitted without interruption from master to student over many centuries, dating back from His Holiness 33rd Menri Trizin (who gave this teaching to Tempa Lama) to the Great Master rMe’u dGongs-mdzod (1038-1096), and before him to Tonpa Shenrab, the founding teacher of Bon.

Tempa Dukte Lama is an ordained Tibetan Bon lama. He studied in Menri Monastery, India, from the age of six under the close, personal guidance of His Holiness 33rd Menri Trizin, the spiritual head of Bon. Tempa Lama is the founder and spiritual director of Olmo Ling Bon Center in Pittsburgh, PA. He is an artist and poet and author of four books with Olmo Ling Publications, the first Bon publishing house which he founded in 2011. Tempa Lama is dedicated to making the ancient teachings of Bon available and accessible in the West, helping people bring a practice of compassion, healing and happiness into their lives.

Fees: $95 (Olmo Ling members), $108 (non-members).

This Retreat is for those who have attended the Bon A Khrid Dzogchen Transmission and Practice Year 1 with Tempa Lama (offered in fall 2015 and fall 2013).
