Chod practice workshop with Andrew Kaiser

Saturday September 15, 9:30am-4:30pm with lunch break
Olmo Ling Bon Center and Institute, 1101 Greenfield Ave, Pittsburgh PA 15217

Chod is an ancient and powerful Tibetan practice that is practiced every week at Olmo Ling as part of the Saturday morning meditation. ‘Chod’ means to cut through. This practice with its melodious chant accompanied by the Tibetan hand drum helps us develop the wisdom that ultimately cuts through suffering and delusion. This daylong workshop is an opportunity to learn the chant and drumming for this special practice with senior practitioner Andrew Kaiser. In this one day class, we will study the different drumming techniques used in the Chod. We will combine the drumming with chant practice and by the end of the day will be able to run through the full Chod practice.

If you are new to Chod then this class will establish a good foundation to continue. If you are already familiar with Chod, this class is an opportunity to focus on specific questions about the chanting and instruments.
