The Way of a Compassionate Being

Pittsburgh, PA with Tempa Dukte Lama
Weekend Retreat: Saturday, June 25, 9:30am-5pm and Sunday, June 26, 10am-1pm
Venue: Olmo Ling Center, 1101 Greenfield Ave, Pittsburgh PA 15217

In this Retreat we will explore how we can manifest as compassionate beings in our lives. These teachings from the Bon path of Sutra are only rarely taught. They were first given by the Bon Buddha Tonpa Shenrab – the awakened being who founded the Bon tradition, Tibet’s oldest spiritual tradition.

Any sentient being can become a compassionate being, and then a Buddha. To become a compassionate being we have to establish our heart and mind into the understanding and realization of the 37 Aspects of Enlightenment. The 37 Aspects are the practice of compassionate beings on the fivefold path:

1. The path of accumulation
2. The path of preparation
3. The path of seeing
4. The path of meditation
5. The path beyond learning

We will explore what these qualities mean to us and how we can use them as a skillful means to make our lives meaningful, joyful and filled with kindness for ourselves and others.
