We are very grateful that Menri Shedrup Khenpo Geshe Nyima Dhondup Rinpoche, Abbot of the Bon Dialectic School at Menri, has generously offered to give this special Bon Dzogchen teaching from the Root Text Dzog Pa Chenpo Ser Gyi Lung Non Che Wa. Rinpoche will be present in person to offer this teaching together with Tempa Dukte Lama at Olmo Ling Bon Center. As the Abbot of the Bon Dialectic School at Menri Monastery, Menri Shedrup Khenpo Rinpoche has the very special responsibility of teaching all the monks who are studying towards the Geshe (Doctor of Philosophy) degree.
In this weekend’s retreat, Rinpoche will explain and give pith instructions on how to stabilize and control the conceptual mind based on:
1. How to subdue the afflictions of the five poisons and their karmic traces with the help of the five-fold skillful means:
- Subduing the afflictions with the fivefold postures
- Subduing the afflictions with five-fold essential mantra
- Subduing the afflictions with the five-fold meditative absorptions
- Subduing the afflictions with five-fold supreme knowledge
- Subduing the afflictions with five-fold wisdoms
2. How to make the mind peaceful and supple with the help of the nine-fold meditative absorptions:
- Making the mind peaceful and supple with the help of Nying Po Sum – the threefold quality of the seed syllables
- Making the mind peaceful and supple with the help of Dze Sum – the threefold quality of material substances
